Japan Grants $1.9 Million to Support Food Security in Yemen

Yemen confirms providing suitable environment to partners

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Waid Bathib has confirmed keenness of the government on providing suitable and secured work environment and providing facilitations to all international partners in Yemen for boosting relief and developmental projects to all Yemeni people without exception.

In his meeting with directors and representatives of a number of UN organizations on Monday in presence of concerned officials in the ministry, Bathib renewed government's keenness on performing its national tasks towards different social categories thorough joint and strategic work with international partners working in relief, humanitarian and developmental domains to provide needs of affected people from war.

He stressed significance of linking all donors' funds provided for implementing humanitarian and service projects with the ministry of planning to be able to communicate and coordinate with ministries, local authorities and concerned bodies regarding implementation of foreign interventions and different projects by international organizations.

He also stressed exchanging funds from the organizations' accounts in the Central Bank of Yemen and working on covering people's needs of goods through commercial banks.

He pointed out to facilitations and measures made by the government and adopting one window system by the ministry of planning for facilitating and speeding up procedure of the governments working in Yemen.

For their parts, the directors and representatives of UN organizations and agencies expressed happiness for this meeting for expanding partnership with the ministry for continuing the humanitarian response plan and realizing current priorities.

On the other hand, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Waid Bathib held two separate meetings with the Representative of the World Health Organization in Yemen Adham Ismail and Acting Director of World Food Program in Aden Mohammad Ali.

He discussed with them cooperation and coordination between these organizations and the ministry for tackling priorities of status quo and 2021 plans as well as continuing efforts of addressing war's effects.
