RIYADH – SABA
Foreign Minister Mohammed Al-Hadhrami discussed with the Egyptian ambassador to Yemen Ahmed Farouk the cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries, the latest developments on the national scene in light of the recent military escalation of the Houthi militia and the impact of that on peace efforts.
Al-Hadhrami received through the Egyptian ambassador a message from the Egyptian leader Abdel Fattah el-Sisi addressed to President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi on the Egyptian position regarding Al-Nahdha Dam negotiations, and the negotiating paths through which Egypt sought to reach a fair agreement in this regard.
Al-Hadhrami stressed Yemen's full solidarity with Egypt in order to preserve their historical rights to the Nile river and water uses, explaining that water security for Egypt is an integral part of the Arab national security and Yemeni national security.
He expressed Yemen's aspirations for reaching equitable, just and balanced agreement that will achieve the common interests of the countries concerned without harming the Egyptian water interests.
For his part, the Egyptian ambassador reiterated his country's steadfast stand in support of the legitimate government, affirming the strength of brotherly relations between the two brotherly countries, and appreciating the Yemeni stances in support of issues of common concern.
