Arab Parliamentary Union condemns Iran for handing Yemeni embassy to Houthi militia

Speaker of Arab Parliamentary Union (APU) AtefAttarawinah denounced Iranian authorities for handing over the embassy of the Republic of Yemen in Tehran to the putschist Houthi militia.
The APU described the Iranian regime move as irresponsible flagrantly violates the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen and breaches the conventional diplomatic principles, nevertheless the dangerous impacts of such action upon the Yemeni peoples who have been suffering the war consequences for years.
In a statement issued today, Saturday, the APU has called on the Iranian regime to comply with the UNSCR 2216 and play constructive role in contributing to the efforts aiming to reach political solution to put an end of the war in Yemen through direct communications with the International recognized Yemeni government.
The APU affirmed its absolute support for all efforts have been made by the legitimate government to maintain its unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
