Minister of Defense General Lieutenant Mohammad al-Maqdashi met Tuesday with a number of US senators and MPS discussing with them situations in Yemen and threats posed by Houthi militia on regional and international security.
He discussed with them current situations in Yemen and Iran-backed Houthi militia's violations led to prolonging the war.
They also discussed Iranian interferences in Yemen and Iran's continuous support to Houthis, foiling peace efforts in Yemen, pointing to Houthi's crimes of planting mines and explosives in populated areas and recruiting children as soldiers.
In his meeting with Chairman of Intelligence Committee at US Parliament, the two parties discussed security cooperation and fighting terrorism.
Al-Maqdashi praised US efforts supporting the government of Yemen for regaining the state and facing Houthi militia's coup.
He confirmed government's keenness on regaining state and realizing peace based on the three references: the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Resolution 2216.
