Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, in cooperation with UNICEF, provided new fund support estimated at USD 70 million to Yemeni teachers, whose salaries stopped over the war, for ensuring continuous schooling.
Sponsor of King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Activities Abdullah al-Rabi'a, UAE under Secretary of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ministry Sultan al-Shamsi and Representative of UNICEF at GCC countries al-TayebAdem signed Wednesday an agreement of cash bonuses to Yemeni teachers.
Divided equally between Saudi Arabia and the UAE, the fund will cover 137 thousand teachers in provinces of Ibb, Sana'a, Baidha', Hajja, Dhamar, Sa'ada, Capital Sana'a, Amran, Mahweet and Rima.
Adem said in a press release that supporting teachers will help boosting local economy and owning cash by families to help their buying capabilities.
He appreciated Saudi and UAE generous support to the organization for helping children in Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Bangladesh and other countries.
