The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC)held an extraordinary meeting chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Council, with the presence of all its members Sultan al-Aradah, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Majli, Mahmoud al-Subaihi and Salem Al-Khanbashi to discuss national and regional developments and the proposed policies to address them at all levels. A Yemeni human rights watchdog has called on the UN organizations to condemn the Houthis as they had started trying 10 journalists in an illegal court in the capital Sana'a.

In a statement on Saturday the Yemen Coalition for Monitoring Human Rights Violations called on the "international organizations concerned with expression freedom especially the UNESCO and the UNHRC to condemn the practices of the criminal Houthi militia and pressure them to release the journalists immediately."

The journalists, subject to torture and degradation since their detention in June 2015, have been summoned before a court that used to be concerned with terrorism issues.

The watchdog denounced the continuous series of Houthi sweeping of civilian oppositionists and activists into jails including a female activist who criticized the Houthis for stealing humanitarian relief aid.
