Central Bank of Yemen withdraws $95 million from Saudi deposit

Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) announced that it has withdrawn $95 million of the Saudi deposit. It is the 16th payment allocated to import basic food commodity .
The CBY said" The Saudi deposit has been allocated to subsidize basic food stuffs for the whole population of Republic of Yemen, without any discrimination in prices of the letters of credits in accordance with 2018 exchange rate of 440 Rial for $1..".
The CBY stated that the banks which submitted applications for coverage of their external credits should go to the CBY to get procedures for opening letters of credits accomplished on Thursday 21 and Saturday 23 of this month February 2019.
