Info minister, Tehama officials discuss raising awareness on rebels' corruption

The Minister of Information and governors of the federal region of Tehama began discussing a plan to raise the awareness of the region's population about the Houhti-Saleh rebel militias' corruption including by launching new radio stations.

Minister Muammar al-Eryani met the governor and deputy governor of Hodeidah Saleh Sumay and Walid al-Qudaimi respectively, and the governor of Hajjah Abdul-Karim Asenaini in Riyadh on Sunday evening.

The meeting highlighted YR 1500 price of cooking gas cylinders in government-held regions compared to YR 4 to 5 thousand price in rebels-controlled regions, a form of corruption that the plan will aim to raise the public awareness about.

Al-Eryani said his ministry is ready "to expose the rebels' starvation policy which they practice against the people of Tehama.

The meeting addressed the rebels' exploitation of oil products which they sell at exorbitant prices in the black market to raise more funds to sustain their insurgency.

The governor said that the militias have confiscated to themselves much of the aid sent to Hajjah by King Salman Center for Relief Aid.
