The chief of Yemen Journalists Syndicate (YJS) Mahmoud Thabethas emphasized the importance of" holding the violators of journalists' rights accountable in all provinces."
In a workshop the YJS and the International Federation for Journalistsorganized in cooperation in Aden on the occasion of the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists (November 2), Mr. Thabet said the "journalists in the Houthi-Saleh rebel controlled regions are subject to all forms of atrocities; abduction, forcible disappearance, killing, torture and to keeping in jails according to illegal proceedings."
He called on all media bandits to synergize and collaborate to defend their common violated rights.
The meeting recommended cooperation with the local and international NGOs concerned with human rights to end the impunity against violators to modify the Yemeni Press Law to be in line with the Yemeni government's commitments toward the international criteria.
