KSA's role pivotal in repelling regional conspiracies, information minister says
[13/06/2017 01:01]

RIYADH-SABA
Yemen's Minister of Information said if anything, at all, is good in the turbulent events that have been shaking the Arab world for years, to date, then it is that fact these events ripped off the cloak of anonymity about the nature of agendas, loyalties and inclinations of states, parties, entities and individuals.

In an article in the Okaz Saudi daily, H.E. Minister Muammar al-Eryani said: "Therefore, when we are not hesitant, for a moment, to take the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's side in every turning point down the road, it is only stemming from our feelings of fraternity and warmth toward our neighbor and sisterly kingdom. It is also showing how grateful we are to the Kingdom's pro-Arabism leadership and its faithful people for their noble stance toward Yemen in all its ordeals."

"This role [of the Kingdom] became more evident with the string of crises that have been rocking the region from the onset of this decade; a pivotal role the Kingdom played in repelling the conspiracies and suspicious agenda against the region's identity and in constantly supporting some states that were prone to disintegration and collapse."

But being the state of the heavy political and economic weight known to the world, Saudi Arabia played the biggest role in toppling those gloomy scenarios down. Restoring the Arab and Islamic nations back to their place amongst the world's population. Hence everyone began to view the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the leading country and the region's last line of defense, the minister continued.

The minister cited the kingdom's sponsorship of the 2011 peace initiative, direct economic support to Yemen, embracing of around two million expat Yemeni workers, 500 thousand of which entered Saudi Arabia after the coup militia's takeover.

Despite the militias' persistent attempts to ruin these historically deep rooted relations between Yemen and the Kingdom, the minister points out, the kingdom and the coalition of Arab states behind it never hesitated, not for a moment, to extend their helping hand to the Yemeni people and the Yemeni state headed by President Abduh Rabbo Mansour Hadi. With a view to recovering Yemen back from the theologian Houthi militia's grip, which did realize through a heroic battle in which mixed bloods testified to the unity of Yemen and Saudi Arabia's history, geography and destiny.

That being the case, the minister added, the Yemeni political leadership represented by H.E Abduh Rabbo Mansour Hadi, Vice President Lt.

Gen. Ali Mohsen Saleh and Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid bi-Daghr did not hesitate to assert Yemen's absolute support to the decisions and appreciation of the stances of the Kingdom which are always in Yemen's favor, serving its security and stability.

"Therefore we should only return faithfulness for faithfulness. And we can only be in the Kingdom's side in countering the forces of terrorism, extremism and the demonic plots orchestrated to divide the region along sectarian and racial fault lines.

No matter what the calculations might ever be, the mere thought of thinking otherwise cannot be allowed in mind."
