WHO sends emergency crew to control cholera in Yemen

Geneva (Saba)- The World Health Organization has declared it will swiftly send an emergency crew to Yemen with the aim of controlling cholera epidemic.
This declaration came during the meeting of the Eastern Mediterranean Region's countries held in Geneva with the participation of Yemen's Minister of Health and Population Nasserr Baoum and Chief of WHO Margaret Chan.
With the presence of Deputy Minister of Health and Population Ali al-Walid, Baoum presented a detailed explanation about the health situation in Yemen, particularly about cholera epidemic.
He explained that the Yemeni government does best to control the epidemic, highly valuing the efforts made by Gulf Cooperation Council Countries, and King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid in providing urgent assistance to combat the epidemic.
For his part, head of the WHO's emergency department said that WHO in collaboration with its partners prepared an entire plan to control cholera in Yemen.
