His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Chaired today, Wednesday, a joint meeting of the PCL and the government, included Council's members: Tareq Saleh, Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Mujalli, Mahmoud al-Subaihi and Salem al-Khanbashi, as well as Prime Minister Dr. Shaya Zindani.

The meeting devoted to discuss the developments in political, economic and service-related situations, as well as military and security developments amid the continued escalation by Iranian regime-allied Houthi terrorist militias.

The Prime Minister, the Governor of the Central Bank and the Minister of Finance provided reports on indicators of financial, economic and service performance, as well as the measures taken to enforce sovereign decisions related to controlling smuggling, enhancing oversight, controlling land and sea entry points, undermining the war economy run by the militias, and cutting off their funding and arms sources.

The meeting praised the government's efforts in managing this difficult phase, the regularity of its meetings in the temporary capital Aden and the high capability and efficiency it has shown in handling complex economic, service and security issues.

It also applauded the progress made in comprehensive reforms, maintaining financial and monetary stability, applying the council’s decisions and recommendations aimed at addressing imbalances in public revenue collection, ensuring the state’s access to its sovereign resources and to deliver on its obligations.

The meeting expressed great appreciation and gratitude for the generous and continuous fraternal support from the the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Thanks to this significant support, it has helped the government in fulfilling its essential obligations, primarily paying employees' salaries, improving basic services, boosting economic and financial stability and easing the humanitarian suffering exacerbated by the war of the terrorist Houthi militias.

The meeting asserted the state's determination to go on reclaiming its sovereign tools, strengthening compliance with the sanctions regime and protecting citizens, the private sector, food and medicine supplies, savings and legitimate transfers.

The meeting also praised the unprecedented institutional harmony, the teamwork spirit and the mobilization of all efforts to serve the national battle to restore state institutions and end the suffering of the Yemeni people caused by the Houthi terrorist militias.

The meeting also reviewed reports from the Ministers of Defense and Interior on the latest field developments, the level of readiness on various fronts, the measures taken to protect civilians, sovereign facilities, and national interests, and to deter threats.

The joint meeting of the PLC and the government praised the high efficiency demonstrated by the heroes of the armed and security forces across their various formations in confronting the Houthi militias and foiling their plans, as well as the terrorist organizations collaborating with them to destabilize security and stability in the country.

The meeting also highlighted the security and intelligence successes achieved in tracking and pursuing members of terrorist organizations, the most recent of which was the security operation carried out by the Yemeni Counter-Terrorism Forces and the joint special forces of the Saudi-led coalition supporting legitimacy, which resulted in eliminating the ISIS spokesperson, Abu Hudhaifah al-Ansari.

The meeting stressed on the strict implementation of measures related to controlling smuggling and monitoring land, sea and air entry points, in light of the decisions of the PLC, and the necessary steps to enhance coordination between government agencies and local authorities, and to dismantle the smuggling, financing, and supply networks that benefit Houthi militias and terrorist groups.

The PLC stated that smuggling has become a direct threat to national security, a drain on state resources and a source of funding for militia economies. Accordingly, a firm approach must be endorsed to deal with the smugglers and their networks and holding accountable those involved, as well as anyone providing them protection or facilitation, regardless of their positions or roles.
