MARIB – SABA
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Governor of Marib Sultan al-Arada has affirmed that building a strong and professional national military institution represents a strategic plan for the state and a long-term national vision.
He stressed the importance of continuing training, qualification and capacity-building programs as key pillars for developing the armed forces and enhancing their readiness and efficiency.
This came during his speech on Sunday at the reception ceremony for the 18th Command and Staff batch at the Higher Military Academy in Marib.
The ceremony was attended by Chief of Staff and Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Sagheer bin Aziz, Governors of Sana’a Major General Abdul Qawi Sharif and Raymah Major General Mohammed Ali al-Haweri, Deputy Director of the Higher Military Academy Brigadier General Faisal Shizer and a number of military and security leaders.
At the beginning of his speech, al-Arada conveyed the greetings of President of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Dr. Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi, as well as the council members, expressing their pride in the efforts made by members of the armed forces on various fronts.
He also paid tribute to the souls of the nation’s and republic’s martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defense of the homeland, praying for the recovery of the wounded and the freedom of prisoners and abductees.
Al-Arada noted that the armed forces have made great sacrifices in defense of the homeland and the republic, with their heroes recording lasting acts of courage and honor on the battlefields. He emphasized that honoring these sacrifices requires continuing to work sincerely to consolidate the foundations of the state and strengthen its institutions, foremost among them a military institution based on competence, professionalism, discipline, and a firmly established national doctrine.
He explained that the nation’s battle is not limited to military confrontation, but is also a battle of building, awareness, preparation, and qualification. It requires strengthening the capabilities of state institutions and enabling them to fulfill their national duties.
He affirmed that the strength of nations is measured by the qualified human resources they possess—those who carry knowledge, expertise, and experience while embracing values of sacrifice, belonging, and responsibility.
He pointed out that Yemen faces challenges and exceptional circumstances requiring the combined efforts of all its people in various fields of contribution, whether on the battlefields, in educational and training institutions or across different sectors of work and production.
He stressed that protecting and building the homeland is a collective responsibility in which roles and efforts complement one another.
Al-Arada renewed his confirmation of the political leadership’s interest, represented by President Dr. Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi, in strengthening the capabilities of the armed forces, improving training and qualification standards in military and civilian educational institutions, and providing available resources to advance academic, scientific, and professional development, based on the belief that people are the makers of national advancement.
He called on commanders, officers, non-commissioned officers, and members of the military institution to continue striving for excellence and developing their scientific and military abilities in order to enhance their competence and professionalism.
He stressed that a successful officer is not measured only by rank, but also by knowledge, integrity, discipline, leadership ability, and sincere dedication to serving the nation.
At the conclusion of his speech, the member of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the efforts of the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff, the leadership of the Higher Military Academy and those responsible for its operations in the temporary capital Aden and Marib Governorate, wishing everyone success.
