The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Eng. Mutea Dammaj discussed Sunday with the President of the Arab Tourism Organization Dr. Bandar bin Fahd al- Fahid areas of cooperation and ways to support and develop Yemen’s tourism sector.
The meeting explored benefiting from the organization’s expertise in developing infrastructure for tourism projects, qualifying and training Yemeni cadre, enhancing the digital transformation of tourism services, contributing to sector growth and the creation of employment opportunities for young people.
Minister Dammaj emphasized the importance of supporting efforts to rehabilitate tourism facilities, particularly in the temporary capital, Aden, as well as on Socotra Island and in the liberated governorates, in order to revitalize tourism activity and attract investment.
For his part, Dr. Bandar al-Fahid affirmed the organization’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with the ministry and support plans for the development and modernization of tourism facilities in Yemen.
He also highlighted the potential to benefit from partnerships and agreements signed with Arab and regional financing institutions, helping to promote tourism investment and support sustainable sector development.
