Minister of Public Works and Highways Eng. Hussein al-Aqrabi met on Tuesday in the interim capital Aden with Head of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) office, Juan Carlos, to discuss strengthening cooperation and advancing key road infrastructure projects, including the completion and handover of the 50th Street project.
The meeting, which was attended by UNOPS Yemen Office Director Rehana Zawar Ali, reviewed progress in capacity-building initiatives within the Road and Bridge Maintenance Fund and assessed their impact.
Discussions also covered the launch of a pilot road asset assessment project in partnership with the Fund, aimed at improving the efficiency of road network management and maintenance planning.
Deputy Minister for Roads Eng. Walid Radman also participated in the talks.
Al-Aqrabi commended the level of partnership with UNOPS, praising the technical and institutional support provided to the ministry and the Road and Bridge Maintenance Fund, which he said has contributed to enhancing performance and modernizing operational mechanisms.
