Yemen participated in the 57th ordinary session of the Arab Permanent Committee on Human Rights at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, with a delegation headed by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Rights for Partnership and International Cooperation, Nabil Abdulhafiz Majed.
The meeting reviewed regional human rights issues, implementation of previous committee recommendations, and mechanisms to strengthen joint Arab cooperation in the field.
The Committee discussed developments in the Palestinian cause, Israeli violations in the occupied Arab territories, the situation of Arab detainees in Israeli prisons, and the issue of remains held in numbered cemeteries. It also examined updates related to the Arab Charter on Human Rights and ways to enhance its implementation.
Participants stressed that the Palestinian cause remains a top priority for joint Arab action, describing it as a key test of the credibility of the international human rights system amid ongoing violations against the Palestinian people under Israeli occupation.
