Ambassador of Yemen to Turkey Mohammed Turaiq met today with the Turkish Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Dr. Serdar Çam.
He discussed with him strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries, particularly in the cultural and tourism sectors.
The meeting emphasized the depth of the historical and civilizational ties that bind the two brotherly nations, and the role of culture as an effective tool for enhancing mutual understanding and expanding the horizons of sustainable institutional cooperation between the two countries, in a manner that serves their shared interests.
The meeting also addressed recent developments in Yemen and their repercussions on domestic and regional stability, as well as on international maritime security.
Ambassador Turaiq reaffirmed the commitment of the political leadership and the government to supporting the peace process, enhancing cooperation with regional and international partners, contributing to efforts aimed at alleviating humanitarian suffering and preserving Yemen’s cultural and civilizational heritage.
For his part, the Turkish official expressed his country’s appreciation for the historical relations linking Turkey and Yemen, affirming Turkey’s readiness to enhance cultural cooperation, support initiatives aimed at protecting Yemeni cultural heritage, and exchange expertise between the relevant institutions in both countries.
