Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Tariq Saleh inspected Tuesday the December 2 Center for Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation in the city of Makha, Taiz Governorate.
The centre is witnessing the final stages in preparation for its official opening in the coming days.
During the visit, Tariq Saleh, along with the Governor of Taiz Governorate, Nabil Shamsan and Member of Parliament Sheikh Nasser Bajil, were briefed on the center's departments and its advanced therapeutic and technical equipment, which makes it the first of its kind in Yemen in terms of the multiplicity of departments and the type of devices and equipment used.
The member of the Leadership Council listened to an explanation from those in charge of the center and the Director of the Medical Services Department in the National Resistance Dr. Tariq al-Azani about the units specialized in orthopedics, neurology, rheumatism, post-stroke rehabilitation, spinal cord injuries, and joint replacement, in addition to special units for rehabilitating sports injuries and treating children with special needs.
The center also includes advanced treatment programs in rehabilitation after cruciate ligament operations, back cartilage removal, a specialized unit for treating urinary incontinence and elephantiasis, and another for heart patients after surgical operations and diseases of the thoracic system.
The center also contains an integrated department for precision hand surgeries using a medical microscope, physical therapy units for intensive cases, and hotel accommodation rooms prepared to receive patients during periods of dormancy and treatment.
