Al-Eryani: It is high time for international community to act firmly against terrorism

The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Muammar al-Eryani said "The death of a sailor due to severe injuries he sustained from the terrorist attack by the Iranian regime backed terrorist Houthi militias on the Dutch ship (MV

MINERVAGRACHT), on September 29 in the Gulf of Aden, must serve as a new alarm bell for the international community and a reminder of the dangers of continuing to remain silent regarding Houthi terrorism, which targets the lives of civilians and the security and safety of international navigation."

"These attacks are no longer a regional threat; they pose a direct danger to global trade and the world economy by disrupting supply lines and increasing shipping and insurance costs," he added in a press statement.

Al-Eryani made it clear that the time has come for the Dutch government and the European Union to take a firmer stance against this threat by designating the Houthi militia as a terrorist group and providing full support to the internationally recognized government's efforts to protect international sea lanes and ensure the safety of navigation and maritime crews.

The Minister stated that impunity encourages terrorism and silence should no longer be an option, stressing that protecting the lives of sailors and securing shipping routes is a collective responsibility imposed by humanitarian values before legal obligations and requires urgent and decisive international action.
