GENEVA - SABA
Vice Foreign Minister Mustafa Noman met Tuesday with the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Norway to the United Nations and international organizations in Geneva Ambassador Tormod Kapilian Endresen.

The meeting was on the sidelines of the seventy-sixth session of the Executive Committee of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

During the meeting, the latest developments in the Red Sea were discussed.

The Vice Minister expressed the Yemeni government's strong condemnation of the Houthi attacks that target international navigation and threaten regional and international security and peace.

The two parties also discussed developments in the current humanitarian situation in Yemen, and the challenges facing the work of UN agencies and humanitarian organizations as a result of the deteriorating security situation and the continued violations practiced by the Houthi militias, including attacks on UN employees and obstructing humanitarian aid from reaching those who deserve it.

Noman expressed the Yemeni government's appreciation for Norway's humanitarian and effective position.

He appreciated its role as one of the largest supporters of global humanitarian response efforts and UNHCR programmes, and its contribution to alleviating the suffering of refugees and displaced persons inside Yemen and in the region.

For his part, the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Norway to the United Nations stressed his country's continued support for humanitarian and relief efforts in Yemen, and Norway's keenness to work with international partners to enhance security and stability in the region and enable national institutions to perform their role in serving citizens.

The meeting concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuing consultation and coordination between Yemen and Norway on issues of common interest within international organizations, which contributes to supporting peaceful solutions and improving the humanitarian situation in Yemen.
