ADEN - SABA
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Republic Yemen welcomes the decision of the United Nations (UN) to relocate the place of appointment of the Resident Coordinator for Yemen from Sana’a to the Interim capital Aden.

In a press statement learned by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Ministry encourages all Agencies Funds and Programs of the UN to follow suit and relocate their country representatives to the temporary capital.

The Ministry stated that it is committed to working with the UN Agencies Funds and Programs to ensure humanitarian assistance continues to be delivered to all Yemenis in need across the Republic.

The Ministry will work with the UN to ensure the safety of their staff and all humanitarian workers across Yemen, in line with UN Privileges and Immunity and International Humanitarian Law.

The Ministry reiterates its strongest condemnation of the continued arbitrary detention of dozens of humanitarian workers by the Houthi militia and calls for their immediate and unconditional release.
The Ministry underscores that this decision is a critical step to enable the UN to better serve the Yemeni people across the country and to strengthen cooperation between the UN and all Yemeni ministries in the fields of humanitarian assistance and development.
