The Director General of the Local Water and Sanitation Authority in Aden, Engineer Mohammed Bakhabira, met with a UNESCO team led by Dr. Mohammed Alawi, Director of Sciences at the UNESCO Regional Office for the Gulf States and Yemen. The meeting focused on ways to support and develop the water sector in Aden.
Bakhabira highlighted the main challenges facing the authority, efforts to improve water services, and the basic needs for developing infrastructure and enhancing the authority's capabilities. He emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with UNESCO to improve service efficiency and expand its scope.
The UNESCO team expressed their organization's readiness to support developmental projects that contribute to developing the water sector in Aden, affirming their commitment to joint cooperation with the authority to ensure service continuity and achieve sustainable development in this vital sector.
