Leadership Council Chairman Meets with EU Officials

RIYADH - SABA
Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi met with the Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs at the European External Action Service (EEAS) Olof Skoog and the Head of EU delegation to Yemen, Gabriel Munera Viñale.

The meeting discussed the latest developments in Yemen and the region, including the European Union's required interventions to support the Yemeni economy and alleviate humanitarian suffering exacerbated by Houthi terrorist attacks on oil facilities and shipping vessels.

The President praised the European Union's strong commitment to standing alongside the Yemeni people and its leadership. He expressed appreciation for the EU's recent statement condemning Houthi militia violations and reflecting the Union's firm commitment to supporting the Yemeni state's efforts towards security, stability, and sovereignty.

The President emphasized the importance of continued international unity and positive stance on the Yemeni situation, as well as close coordination with global powers to address shared threats, particularly protecting waterways and shipping vessels.
