The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the announcement by US President Donald Trump regarding the lifting of sanctions imposed on the Syrian Arab Republic.
The Ministry considered this step a significant positive gesture towards alleviating the humanitarian suffering of the Syrian brotherly people and providing a conducive atmosphere to advance peace efforts.
The Ministry expressed the Republic of Yemen's appreciation for the diplomatic efforts made by the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which contributed to creating the conditions for this step, in line with its leadership role in enhancing regional and international stability.
The Ministry reiterated the Republic of Yemen's firm position supporting the unity of Syria, its sovereignty, and the integrity of its territories.
It also emphasized the importance of restoring the role of the Syrian state and its national institutions to fulfill the aspirations of the Syrian people for security, stability and development.
