The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

PM convenes joint meeting of leaderships of CBY, Ministries of Finance, Oil

The Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak presided over a joint meeting today, Wednesday, in the transitional capital Aden brought together the headships of the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) and the two Ministries of Finance and Oil and Minerals.

The meeting aimed to discuss the coordinated efforts to improve the national currency exchange rates and establish well integration between financial and monetary policies in order to control exchange rates of the national currency and mitigate its dangerous implications on the living conditions of the fellow citizens.

The Meeting also intended to review the prepared plans to secure the domestic markets' needs of fuels and cooking gas all over Yemeni governorates amid the application of the decision of banning the imports of oil derivatives and gas by the terrorist Houthi militias in the wake of the designation these militias a Foreign Terrorist Organization.
