President al-Alimi welcomes re-designation Houthis as a foreign terrorist organization
[23/01/2025 12:16]
ADEN-SABA
His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) welcomed the decision of US President Donald Trump to re-designate the Iranian regime-backed Houthi militias as a foreign terrorist organization.

His Excellency, on his behalf, members of the Council and the government and the Yemeni people expressed his thanks to President Trump for this historic decision, reiterating his pledges to end wars and deter terrorist organizations around the world.

The President confirmed the government's commitment to close cooperation with the US administration and the international community to implement the designation decision and to provide the necessary guarantees for the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid.

The president wrote in a post on the "X" platform "Yemenis waited a long time, especially those who were tortured, unjustly arrested or their homes were blown up and displaced around the world, for fairness and punishing Houthi criminality with the terrorist designation decision, as an entry point to bring peace and stability to Yemen and the region."

The Chairman of the PLC stated that to promote this path towards the desired peace, there is an urgent need for a collective global approach to support the Yemeni government, and not to procrastinate in the implementation of the UNSC's resolutions, especially Resolution 2216.

"The leniency with the enemies of peace will give rise to the continuation of the terrorist acts of these most heinous militias in history", His Excellency stressed.
