President al-Alimi receives Director of Middle East Department at German Foreign Office

RIYADH - SABA
Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi received on Tuesday here Tobias Tönkle, the Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the German Federal Foreign Office, and Hubertus Jürgen, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Yemen.

The meeting discussed the longstanding bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, ways to enhance them in all fields, the required German and European support for comprehensive economic reforms, and the alleviation of the humanitarian suffering over Houthi terrorist Houthi militia's war on the country.

The meeting also discussed regional developments, the Israeli aggression on Yemeni territories, the Palestinian people and its repercussions on international peace and security, and the importance of implementing the resolutions of international legitimacy to achieve the aspirations of the peoples of the region for security, stability and peace.

President al-Alimi briefed the German official on the latest developments in the Yemeni situation, including the good efforts led by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in order to launch a comprehensive political process that meets the aspirations of all Yemenis in building a state of equal citizenship and the rule of law.

He praised the position of the Federal Republic of Germany in supporting the Yemeni people and their political leadership, and alleviating the humanitarian suffering caused by the terrorist Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime.
