Member of the Presidential Leadership Council General Sultan al-Aradah received Thursday in his office here Ambassador of the Somali Federal Republic Abdullahi Hash Shurie, discussing with him mutual relations between the two countries and means of expanding them in different fields.
The meeting addressed several issues and shared interests between the Yemeni and Somali governments, foremost among them the conditions of the communities and the most important treatments and solutions to the prominent problems and challenges.
The meeting also reviewed the latest regional and international developments and the importance of enhancing security cooperation and coordination between the relevant agencies in both the Yemeni and Somali sides to secure global trade routes and combat smuggling networks.
Al-Aradah emphasized the Council and the government's keenness to enhance cooperation and joint coordination by the relevant authorities with the Somali presidency and government in all political, security, economic, and developmental fields, in addition to the social and humanitarian aspects, in a way that serves the common interests and benefits of the two brotherly peoples.
He expressed his pride in the fraternal relations and social ties between the Yemeni and Somali peoples and the strength and depth of these historical relations between the two neighboring countries.
For his part, the Somali Ambassador expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the level of fruitful cooperation and services provided to the Somali community in various fields.
