President al-Alimi convenes high-profile meeting to discuss topical issues

His Excellency (HE) President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) along with the PLC's members Aidaroos al-Zubaidi, Abdul Rahman al-Mahrami and Othman Mujalli convened a high-profile session in the transitional capital Aden included headships of the Parliament, Shura Council and Consultations and Reconciliation Commission and some advisors of the PLC's Chairman.

The PLC's Chairman welcomed the conveners, describing the meeting as a consultative session comes after nearly two years of the creation of the PLC as an inclusive national instrument of the Yemeni cause to counter the Imamate scheme and restore the state's institutions, re-establish security, stability and peace.

HE reiterated his own and the members' of the PLC commitment to the pledges they made in the statement of the oath first of all to work on the basis of partnership and national consensus, asserting the unity and coherence of the PLC about Yemeni people's central cause represented by restoring the state's institution peacefully or militarily.

HE provided an informative presentation about the overall situations and developments in the national arena, citing the challenges the PLC and government faced by, particularly with the continuing cessation of oil exports that has been forcefully imposed by the Terrorist Houthi militias.

In this context, HE praised the supportive stances of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, deeply appreciating their effective role in maintaining the state's institutions, helping the government to pay the employees' salaries and fulfill its vitally important obligations toward the citizens.

On the occasion of the "Decisiveness Storm" and recapturing Aden city that corresponding this month, HE voiced deep gratitude to the brothers in the Saudi-led Arab Coalition for their largesse and substantial support for the internationally recognized Yemeni government.

The Chairman of the PLC emphasized the importance of joining the efforts of the state's authorities to effectively respond to the different challenges the country has been facing at this critical stage. He noted that despite all these tough circumstances, there are several projects and services were inaugurated and essential reforms were made in the judicial authority, public finance and the Central Bank of Yemen, never resorted to inflationary resources to finance the public finance.

HE touched upon the peace process, affirming that peace option will continue to be a priority of the PLC and the government per what incorporated in the declaration of the power transition and the stated obligations because that is the best interest of the Yemeni people.

He said" Here, we mean the honorable peace that can ensure the state of equal citizenship, protect the identity, the state's exclusive right to possess military force, enforce the rule of law , including fighting terrorism and corruption of its different sorts".

HE noted that to strengthen the armed and security forces' position, the PLC and the government have initiated a number of significant reforms to re-organize the troops and security forces under a national unified command so that it can be well-prepared to deal with any potential challenges.

The PLC Chairman has confirmed the PLC's and the government's clear position about the militias' escalation in the Red Sea, emphatically stressing that securing the seaports and regional waters must come through supporting the government and sustaining its capacities, restoring its effective control over all the national soils.

The President recalled the PLC's directives to the government that it must establish the good and desirable example of the good governance in the government-held governorates, bolster the fellow citizens' trust and the regional and international community's in the public institutions.
