Minister of Water and Environment Engineer Tawfeeq al-Sharjabi discussed Monday here with CARE International's team implementing the agreement signed by the ministry and the organization regarding the second phase of the project of water and sanitation and personal hygiene financed by USAID.

During the meeting, which was attended by the Deputy Minister for the Water Sector, the Director of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation in Aden, and several experts, the projects implemented by the organization in Aden and various provinces over the past year were reviewed.

These projects covered various fields, including water, sanitation, and environmental sanitation.

Minister al-Sharjabi also listened to an explanation from the organization's team and the local water and sanitation corporation about proposed wastewater projects and the steps taken to implement them.

He emphasized the importance of the corporation finding appropriate solutions to address the sewage overflow in the Russian Village and connecting the sewage network to the emergency building in the Republic Hospital.

The Minister of Water and Environment stressed the necessity of coordination and enhancing the partnership between the ministry, the organization, and relevant entities in implementing humanitarian interventions.

He emphasized the need to focus on the urgent priorities of projects related to the city of Aden, given the pressure and deterioration of the infrastructure of the sewage services that have been affected by the war.
