President al-Alimi establishes the Central Apparatus for State Security

Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi issued Thursday the Decree No. (5) for 2024 for establishing the Central Apparatus for State Security.

According to this decree, both the Political Security and the National Security Bureau and other intelligence entities of the Transitional Council, the Republican Guards and the Giant Forces shall be united under one intelligence bureau named the Central Apparatus for the State Security.

The premises of the apparatus will be in the transitional capital of Aden and branches for it can be established in the provinces.

The apparatus shall be under the command of the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and shall be responsible on implementing all tasks and duties stated in this decree and receive its directives from the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council.

The decree authorized the heads of the political security and national security, along with a team of mixing them appointed by the Presidential Leadership Council with participation of the Office of the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, to prepare a timely plan to end and finalize the work of mixing these security organizations within a period does not exceed six months of the date of issuing this decree.

The decree commits the Central Apparatus for the State Security to perform its tasks and duties without any violation to the principle of the political multiplicity, public freedoms and human rights and without any contradiction to the rules of constitution and effective laws.

The last article of the decree stipulates that the decree shall be valid since the date of its issuance and must be published in the state gazette.
