Chairman, members of the Presidential Leadership Council confer with US Envoy over peace efforts

RIYADH - SABA
His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) along with members of the PLC Aidarous al-Zubaidi, Tariq Saleh and Othman Mujalli received today, Wednesday, the United States' special envoy to Yemen Timothy Lenderking and the American Ambassador to Yemen Steven Fagin.

The meeting aimed to discuss Yemeni-American bilateral cooperation, the developments about the Yemeni situation, brothers' and friends' ongoing efforts to renew the truce, launch an inclusive political process guided by the United Nations.

President al-Alimi and the PLC's members also touched upon the developments in the occupied Palestinian territories where the Israeli aggressive war and grave violations against the Palestinian people are unabatedly going on.

President al-Alim and the members of the PLC have confirmed Yemen's steady stance in support of the Palestinian people's legitimate right to defend itself and establish its own independent state in line with international resolutions in relevance and Arab Peace Initiative.

President al-Alimi reiterated the commitment of the PLC and the government to establish the comprehensive and fair peace in Yemen, to support the efforts of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the good offices of the two envoys of the US and UN American envoy and UN's to put an end of the humanitarian suffering created by the Iran-backed Houthi militias' coup.

The Chairman and members of the PLC restated that the PLC and government are open to all initiatives and proposals aimed to stop the war, revive the peace process. They reminded the US diplomats that Houthi militias have continued to act intransigently blocking peace efforts, refusing to renew the truce, going on their grave violations of human rights and military escalating in all flashpoints.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed BinMubarak was in attendance.
