The Chief Executive of the General Maritime Affairs Authority Faheem Saif met Monday with the Regional Director of the International Support Foundation for the Nordic Countries Qasim Douali. President al-Alimi inspects areas affected by the tropical cyclone

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, paid today, Thursday, inspection visits to the affected areas by the tropical cyclone, floods and heavy rainfalls which swept the governorate of al-Mahra last Monday and Tuesday.

His Excellency accompanied by Governor of al-Mahra Mohammed Ali Yasser inspected the damages which hit the infrastructures, highways and bridges in the areas of Nashton, al-Anfaq and the mountains of Fartak.

The President briefed by Minister of Public Works and Highways Eng. Salim al-Aboudi and social dignitaries on the urgently needed interventions and the practical measures which have been taken to repair the infrastructure which seriously damaged.

Earlier today the Chairman of the Presidential leadership Council convened a meeting included the governor Yasser, the Emergency Committee tasked with handling the effects of the tropical cyclone and the Commander of the Saudi Duty Force (904) Brigadeir General Faisal al-Hagili.

The meeting approved the emergency relief interventions in the district of Hashwin which overwhelmed by the sweeping floods.

The interventions included operating helicopters to transport the food stuffs, medical evacuation, opening the roads and operate the basic services and normalize the situations with support by the brothers, friends and relief agencies and humanitarian organizations.
