President al-Alimi convenes a meeting with local authority in al-Mahra governorate

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alim, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, held a session today, Sunday, brought together the headship of the local authority, the members of the executive bureau of the national government in al-Mahra governorate and Minister of Public Works and Highway Eng. Salim al-Aboudi.

The meeting intended to coordinate the efforts of the local authority and government's authorities in order to cope with the potential consequences of the tropical cyclone which hit the governorate of Socotra today, Sunday, and it is heading toward the two governorates of al-Mahra and Hadramout.

His Excellency urged doubling down the efforts by the local authority, the government's apparatuses, regional and international partners to deal with potential effects of the tropical cyclone which is expected to hit al-Mahra governorate tomorrow, Monday.

The President noted that his visit to the governorate of al-Mahra amid these exceptional circumstance to help sustaining the local authority's efforts and to support the governorate's population at this difficult moment.

His Excellency praised the immediate response of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to offer all forms of necessary aids and emergency humanitarian interventions to help mitigating the potential effects of the tropical storm.

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council directed the government and local authority to provide the necessary financial resources for the emergency teams and civil defense services to help them doing their job effectively.

The governor of al-Mahra Mohammed Ali Yasser and senior officials of the executive bureau, military and security commanders reported about the ongoing preparations and precautionary measures to deal with cyclone" Tej", citing the Presidential and government required support.
