President of Republic Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi received today, Thursday, the US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale and his accompanying delegation.
The session aimed to discuss a range of issues and topics of common interest including situations in Yemen, peace efforts and prospects.
President Hadi welcomed the delegation, praising Yemeni-American friendship relations, citing aspects of cooperation and partnership between the two countries in different spheres. He described Yemeni-American cooperation in countering extremism, terrorism and Iranian interventions in Yemen as strategic.
Hadi touched upon the developments in the Yemeni national arena and underway peace efforts. He underlined the urgent need for the peace that is based on the three terms of reference including GCC's Infinitive, its executive mechanism, outcomes of National Dialogue and UNSCRs in relevance, namely 2216.
He said" We've always been peace-seekers, to this end we've offered significant concessions for the interest of our country and people, and we're going to achieve this option that our peoples are looking forward toa sustainable and permanent peace, not to move the crisises to future".
For his part, Mr Hale appreciated constructive cooperation between the two countries in countering challenges including the dangers of extremism, terrorism and Iranian interferences. He stated that coordination and coordination is continuing between the two countries to achieve the common objectives and interests.
Director of Presidency Office Dr Abdullah al-Alimi, Foreign Minister Mohammed Al-Hadrami, US Ambassador to Yemen Christopher Henzeland Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Arabian Gulf Affairs Tim Lenderking were in attendance.
