A technical meeting held in Marib Monday aimed to discuss bad effects of selling oil crude by Houthis putschist militia.
The gathering, which included senior officials in charge of oil sector businesses, chaired by Undersecretary of Oil and Minerals Engineer Shawqi Al-Mekkhlafi.
The discussions focused on the serious negative impacts of selling oil crude by Iran-backed Houthi militia which has decided recently to enter into a contract with the Cooperative Agricultural Union (CAU) under which the militia sells oil crude to the (CAU). Such a move is going to have devastating impacts upon the national economy and the Yemeni nation's resources.
Houthi rebellious militia has recklessly decided to sell oil crude contained in the oil pipeline stretched 428 km from Safer in Marib province to Ras Essa harbor on the Red Sea. The oil crude transport pipeline contains 900 thousand barrels. The total cost of building such pipeline estimated at above $1 billion.
The Houthis' move is a sabotage act will result in ruining the pipeline and an environmental disaster.
The Ministry of Oil stated that it reserves its legal right to take all legal procedures to stop such sabotage action. The Ministry also stated that it has been seeking to resume all oil production and operations in different oil sectors which have ceased to operate due to Houthi coup.
The meeting expressed thanks to local authority leadership in Marib province headed by the governor Maj. General Sultan Al-Erradah for significant efforts have been made to maintain oil facilities as safe and operational.
