Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Health and Population for Primary Health Care, Dr. Ali Al-Walidi, met on Tuesday with Deputy Representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Yemen, Dr. Majed Al-Tawil, to discuss a range of priority health issues, including the state of health and nutrition services, funding challenges facing the health sector, and prospects for expanding cooperation between the ministry and the organization.

The discussions focused on the country's health and nutrition situation and ongoing efforts to maintain essential healthcare services.

The two sides also reviewed the implications of declining financial support from several donors, particularly the World Bank, and the potential funding gaps that could affect the implementation of key health and nutrition programs.

They further explored proposals and mechanisms aimed at mobilizing additional support from donors and international partners, as well as identifying practical solutions to address funding shortfalls and ensure the continuity of life-saving health interventions, particularly in the areas of nutrition, primary healthcare, and essential health services.
