The Republic of Yemen has participated in the 76th Meetings of the World Health Association, which are being held here in the period 21-30 of May 2023 by a delegation headed by Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qasem Buhaibeh.
The meetings are focusing on "Rescuing Souls and Providing Health for All."
As 2023 marks the 75th Anniversary of establishing World Health Organization, the association will define this year the future of the organization on short and long run, commencing with a budget for the programs for the forthcoming two years and the basic decisions associated with sustainable financing and changes for improving process of WHO and its accounting topics.
The meetings also include discussing the decisive role played by WHO in structures of world health emergency and reviewing progress, accomplishments and challenges in past year side by side the future priorities.
" Peace depends on health, and sickness in a country exposes all to danger and realizing the highest level of health to all everywhere depends on cooperation," said the Secretary General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres.
He pointed out that health of human being has been improving since the creation of World Health Organization 75 years ago, adding that the age level increased more than 50 percent and infants' mortality level decreased by 60 percent.
