The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC)held an extraordinary meeting chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Council, with the presence of all its members Sultan al-Aradah, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Majli, Mahmoud al-Subaihi and Salem Al-Khanbashi to discuss national and regional developments and the proposed policies to address them at all levels. The Prime Minister Dr. Shaya Zindani was in attendance.

Oil Minister discusses with Chinese company resuming oil production

Minister of Oil and Minerals Saeed Al-Shammasi discussed Monday here with Director of Chinse Sinopec Company in the Middle East for Exploration and Production Liu Bawking resumption of the company's investment activities in oil and gas sector in Yemen.

Minister al-Shammasi welcomed Sinopec, which is considered one of the leading companies in oil and gas sector and one of the greatest companies in Yemen through its investment as operator of Sector 71 in Hadhramout and al-Uqlah Shabwah.

He also called the company to invest in new sectors like S2 and be a partner in the country in this field.

He confirmed significance of the strategic partnership between Yemen and the company in oil and gas sector and improving these relations thorough enhancing cooperation and opening new horizons helping in creating specific breakthrough for realizing joint interests.

For his part, the Director of Sinopec Company pointed out that Yemen has promising wealth and the company is seeking to develop strong relations with the Ministry of Oil and Minerals to realize more investments.

He praised keenness of the ministry's leadership on resumption of the company's works and opening new investment activities.
