His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) stated that any approach to put an end of the war in Yemen will never be successful, unless it deals with the Houthi militias as part of an Iranian cross-border scheme, and not as a local political party, warning that reducing any crisis of this kind to truces and arrangements for a ceasefire will lead to temporary risk management rather than building sustainable peace.

Consultation Authority confirms support to peace efforts

The Consultation and Reconciliation Authority held Tuesday a visible meeting presided over by Chairman of the Authority Mohammad al-Ghaithi and attended by deputies and members of the authority.

The presidency of the authority provided a briefing on latest developments of the Saudi-led mediation efforts for realizing the truce and commencing an inclusive political process in addition to communications and visits of the authority's presidency during the past period.

The meeting of the authority confirmed support to efforts of the Arab Coalition's countries and gulf states led by Saudi Arabia for finding an inclusive political process through which the legitimacy ends Houthi militia's coup and regains state institutions.

The authority also confirmed Yemeni people need of just, inclusive and permanent peace through which all political forces realize their legal and political aspirations via dialogue and negotiation.

The authority stressed significance of agreement on all phases and not allowing any chance to breach accords and rebelling against agreements through committing Houthi militia to implement serious and practical steps like ending siege on cities and opening roads.
