President al-Alimi receives Supreme Representative of EU

Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, along with Member of the Council Faraj al-Bahsani, received Thursday the Supreme Representative of the European Union for Foreign, Political and Security Affairs, the Vice President of the EU Commission, Jozeb Buril.
The meeting touched upon latest developments, European interventions to alleviate humanitarian suffering of Yemeni people and supporting its rights in regaining the state institutions and realizing peace, stability and development.
President al-Alimi praised the role of the European Union in correcting misleading information on the mains causes of the crisis in Yemen and its historical extension linked with Iranian destructive agenda in the region.
He pointed out to difficulty of reaching a sustainable peace in Yemen without exerting outmost pressure on Houthi militia and its Iranian supporter.
For his part, the European official welcomed the visit of the president and the accompanying delegation to Brussels and the visit's importance of enhancing cooperation and coordinating positions of the two parties in different levels.
