The Council of Ministers has reiterated the government's adherence to the comprehensive and sustainable peace option in pursuant to the agreed on terms of peace references; calling on the international community to bear its responsibilities toward Houthi militias' violations of the UN-brokered humanitarian truce, its refusal to lift the blockade on Taiz and to open the routes under the truce agreement articles.
In its session held today, Wednesday, in the temporary capital Aden presided over by Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik, the Cabinet welcomed the UN Security Council's recent statement about Yemen and the international stances which clearly denounced the fabricated obstacles created by Houthi militia to block the ships loaded fuels in Hodeidah seaports in order to create fuels crisis.
The Cabinet discussed elaborately the security situations, urging military and security services to act firmly against the terrorist operatives, take every necessary measures and precautions, go on hunting the remaining terrorists operatives and carry out preemptive operations to establish security and stability in the government-held governorates.
The Cabinet has ratified a document of the proposal to establish the project for developing the local councils in Yemen in partnership with the UNCDF.
The two Ministers of Local Administration and Planning and International Cooperation are charged with getting the procedures of signing the memo of understanding with the UNCDF accomplished.
The Cabinet has agreed to pay an amount of $30 million as part of Yemen's debts due payments for the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development. A committee is established headed by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation to negotiate an agreement either to reschedule Yemen's debts or get an exemption due to the unexceptional circumstances Yemen has been going through.
