Marib – Saba
Deputy Governor of Marib, Dr. Abd-Rabbu Miftah, discussed with the resident representative of UNICEF in Yemen, the organization's projects and the possibility of raising the level of its interventions and ways to enhance the humanitarian partnership with the local authority during the coming period in all fields.
During the meeting, Miftah reviewed the latest developments in the humanitarian situation and the situation of the IDPs in Marib, and their most urgent needs during the current stage.
He stressed that the interventions of the UN and international organizations working in the humanitarian and relief fields in the governorate cover less than 50 percent of the needs of the displaced in light of the wave of displacements to the governorate continuing on a daily basis.
He expressed his hope to enhance the level of the existing partnership and work to increase the volume of the organization's upcoming projects and interventions in Marib to contribute to reducing the size of the existing humanitarian gap and meet part of the increasing needs of the displaced and alleviate some of their aggravating suffering.
