The Republic of Yemen participated in the fourth annual meeting (EIRA2021) of the Energy Charter Treaty and the launch of the fourth report to assess the risks of energy investment, which was held in the Belgian capital, Brussels, with a delegation headed by the Minister of Electricity and Energy Dr. Anwar Kelchat.
In his speech at the meeting via visual communication technology, Minister Kelchat stressed that Yemen is seeking to establish legal and constitutional procedures to encourage investment in the electricity and energy sector by setting laws that work to develop the sector and the Yemeni government's adoption of the national strategy for renewable energy and energy efficiency.
In a statement to Saba, the Minister of Electricity and Energy pointed out Yemen's need to develop the electricity and energy sector. He called on the contracting parties to the Energy Charter Treaty to seriously consider investing through the public and private sectors and contributing to the development of energy in Yemen.
