NEW YORK - SABA
The Yemeni Government stated that it has continued to be constructively engaged in the UN-led peace efforts through its envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths to reach comprehensive and sustainable peace based on the three terms of reference for the political solution including the GCC's Initiative, its executive mechanism, National Dialogue's outcomes and the International Security Council's resolutions about Yemen, namely 2216 (2015).
Speaking at the International Security Council's open session about the status quo in Middle East (Yemen) Yemen's Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Abdullah Assa'di said" The Yemeni government out of its responsibility toward the Yemeni people was not only seeking to stop the absurd war has been launched by Houthi militia with the Iranian regime's support but also to put an end of the conflict forever".
Assa'di called on the International Security Council to bear its responsibility and act to stop the Houthi militia's ongoing serious military escalation on Marib governorate.
He also called for pilling up pressure upon Houthi militia and its backer, Iran, to stop its military aggression and come to peace to save the Yemeni people further destruction and suffering.
