Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Wa'id Batheeb called on the International Community (IC) to launch a comprehensive program for reconstruction in Yemen that takes into account reconstructing infrastructure sectors, promote medium and long term developmental tracks, create job-opportunities, combat poverty, empower local communities to develop innovative economic patterns, develop Yemeni seaports and exploit advantage of Yemen's location on the internal trade map.
His statement came as he contributed to regional virtual discussions organized today by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and Saudi Program for Reconstruction and Development in Yemen (SPRDY) about the assessment of Istanbul Program of Action (IPoA) and the next decade's agendas 2030 for the less developed Arab countries include Yemen, Sudan, Somalia and Mauritania.
