Govt calls on the UN to press for collective action to control coronavirus

The Yemeni Government has called on the United Nations to rump up pressure upon Houthi rebels to act jointly against coronavirus pandemic.

It stated that coronavirus pandemic has been constituting a major challenge requires substantial support from the International Community to make Yemen donors conference 2020 helpful.

The gathering is scheduled for June 2,2020 co-organized by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Nations.

The Foreign Ministry issued a statement learned by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) in which it stated that it happened the government demanded establishing a joint committee tasked with coordinate the efforts to counter coronavirus pandemic all over Yemen.

The government reiterated its insistence on the urgency for setting-up a joint committee to coordinate anti-coronavirus actions throughout the Yemeni territories. It stated that Houthi militia shouldn't be allowed to politicize this issue to get concessions over other dossiers.
