Yemen permanent UN Representative Abdullah al-Saadi discussed with the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher the economic and humanitarian situations in Yemen and the government’s efforts to secure peace.

Yemen has confirmed the first case of infection with coronavirus in the country.
The Deputy Health Minister, the spokesman of a supreme national emergency committee for coronavirus said the case was reported in al-Shaher, an Arabian port city in the eastern province of Hadhramout.
Al-Waleedi told Saba the patient zero is in a stable condition "and is receiving the necessary healthcare."
A press conference will be held later today on the discovery. Before this Yemen was classified as the only Middle Eastern country free from the global pandemic. Years of insurgency by Houthi theocratic rebels brought Yemen's health system to near collapse.
