Yemen is participating in the 34th meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) which started on Monday and is scheduled to last until 28 November in Istanbul, Turkey.
The session will discuss, among other things, ways to improve customs risk management systems in OIC countries, promote sustainable food systems in Islamic countries, possibilities of strengthening trade and economic and trade partnership between OIC countries, and the role of the private sector in economic cooperation.
The Committee meets annually to discuss common economic issues and global economic developments relating to the OIC countries and to discuss new mechanisms to enhance economic and trade coordination among member states.
