Minister of Education Hussein Basalamah and Marib governor Maj. Gen. Sultan al-Eradah have announced the initiation of a mining faculty in Marib-based University of Saba Federal Region, as the first such specialized faculty in all Yemen's universities.
Discovery in the 1980s, Marib’s oil along with gas reserves provide a significant proportion of the Yemeni government’s revenues.
